GRUNDTVIG Learning Partnership Continuing Education for the Over 45s: a comparison of European experience
The European project “Continuous education for the Over 45s: a European comparative perspective”, financed and started in 2007 under the Lifelong Learning Programme, subprogramme GRUNDTVIG Learning Partnership, finished on 30th September 2009.
As specifically required by the programme, the partnership was composed by 3 organisations operating in the framework of adult education: Fondazione Aldini Valeriani (IT), Escola de Treball - Fundaciò Eduard Soler (ES), Kreisvolkshochschule Verden (DE). Fondazione Aldini Valeriani acted as project transnational coordinator.
The target of the project was composed by VET operators (trainers, course designers and co-ordinators) belonging to partner institutions directly involved in the adult education field. This learning partnership aimed to create an active network of organisations interested in exchanging best practices regarding the issues of active ageing, the employment problems of the Over 45s and the role, in this context, of continuing education in the European countries involved in the project: Italy, Germany and Spain.
Six transnational meetings allowed trainers and training courses designers to exchange experiences and best practices and contributed in developing and publishing a desk research paper
“Continuous education for the Over 45s: a European comparative perspective” on the state-of-the–art in the European countries involved in the project, with reference to the current situation, policies and measures at local, regional and national level supporting Over 45s participation to training activities and improving access to the labour market
